Iyengar Yoga for Hip Replacement with Dr. Hermann Traitteur on Saturday May 3, 8-10:30AM PT

$60.00

Dr. Hermann Traitteur will begin the workshop  with a review of the anatomy of the hip joint. Topics include the potential problems that can arise, when and why a hip replacement might be indicated, and how the success of such surgery can be supported by practicing specific asanas beforehand, ensuring optimal conditions for the healing process afterward. He will also discuss asanas that should be practiced after the operation, as well as those that should either be avoided or modified.
Then Dr. Traitteur, assisted by Sabine (who received two new hip joints 10 months ago), will demonstrate the asanas that can be practiced before and after hip surgery. The selection of asanas is based on laminated sequence cards created by Iyengar Yoga Therapeutics specifically for this topic.
